The Human Resources Team at Garvan provides a range of strategic and operational services for the Institute and its people. These areas include employee engagement, policy development, recruitment and retention, and performance management. The team's focus is on supporting the strategic objectives of the Institute as well as its people and aims to develop a positive, engaging and high performance culture.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated full-time HR Administrator to join our friendly team for a 3 month period. This is a busy role covering activities such as drafting a range of staff-related correspondence including contracts, transfers, changes, advice, probation, termination etc., maintaining staff files, updating employee details in the HR database, attending to staff queries, and general administrative duties.

About You

As the go-to person you will possess a professional and positive attitude with the ability to follow through and resolve issues, and: 

  • Have prior experience in a similar role
  • Strong administrative and coordination skills
  • Excellent customer services skills and ethics
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Have worked with 1 or more HRIS’s (preferably Workday)
  • Have sound knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
