The Opportunity
We are currently seeking to appoint a Chief Medical Officer to be responsible for providing strategic and management oversight of KCCG’s clinical service delivery. As part of the Executive team this newly created position will provide strategic leadership across all aspects of the Pathology service ensuring the development and implementation of a service that positions KCCG as a global benchmark in terms of clinical genomics diagnostic services
The successful candidate will possess the following key skills and attributes:
- Registered Medical Practitioner in Australia or eligible for such registration.
- Demonstrated extensive experience in senior management at a major health service or equivalent
- Proven leadership capacity and demonstrated experience in the strategic development and implementation of clinical services and related performance improvement initiatives
- Experience in developing and implementing medical strategy
- Ability to work harmoniously and constructively in complex team environments to achieve goals
- Demonstrated capability in driving a comprehensive clinical governance framework and monitoring clinical risk management strategies
- Excellent ability to time manage and prioritise workload
The Institute:
The Kinghorn Centre for Clinical Genomics (KCCG) is the largest genome sequencing facility in the Southern Hemisphere. It features state-of-the-art sequencing, laboratory automation and high performance computing infrastructure, including the Illumina HiSeq X-Ten. With capacity to sequence up to 18,000 whole human genomes per year, KCCG is Australia’s premium provider of whole genome sequencing. The primary focus of KCCG is to produce and market a state-of-the-art genomic pathology service.
