The opportunity

This opportunity is for a Technical Product Owner to join the Precision Health Applications team within Genome.One.

The Technical Product Owner will play a critical role in setting up the overall direction of both the patient and clinician-facing products we are currently developing and to take responsibility for executing parts of that vision together with the development team. The novelty of these products leads to plenty of challenges to overcome with regards to crafting and prioritising the right features for the right stakeholders.

 

Key responsibilities of this position will be focused on enhancing the public profile of Genome.One and its products by:

  • Identifying opportunities, planning and executing new product development
  • Business case development, roadmap creation through the full product lifecycle
  • Initiating and translating the product road map into a manageable product backlog
  • Participating in / leading all the Scrum ceremonies and attend planning workshops
  • Leading the backlog grooming to decompose/estimate stories as well as reviewing these stories and prioritising for extended analysis development
  • Define and document product requirements and user stories, user interaction, and visual design, and the user experience (UX)
  • Act as point of support for all product related enquiries
  • Demonstrating latest iterations to customers (pre-release) and gather feedback
  • All staff are required to comply with Garvan/Genome.One’s Work Health & Safety (WHS) Policy and work in accordance with the WHS management system at all times

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in leading / working in Agile Projects
  • Superb communication skills with audiences big or small, technical or corporate.
  • A passion for getting to know stakeholders, their pains and problems.
  • Out-of-the-box thinking to find new solutions to old problems, or solve big problems that others aren't addressing.
  • An ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong and collaborative work ethic.
  • Experience working closely with software engineering teams in agile or lean environments.
  • Interest in staying abreast of local and global product and technology trends and advancements.
